Job Description

Description

Position at loanDepot

Position Summary:

Responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and optimization of direct mail campaigns as a core customer acquisition channel within the fintech mortgage space. This role translates high-level marketing objectives into targeted, compliant, and results-driven mail programs. The role ensures campaigns are flawlessly executed—aligning offer strategy, audience targeting, creative, and timing with broader omnichannel initiatives. Additionally, this role maintains strict adherence to regulatory requirements (including FCRA and GLBA) while driving continuous performance improvement through testing, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and implements direct mail strategies that align with campaign objectives, leveraging insights from customer segmentation, performance trends, and offer constructs.
  • Owns end-to-end execution of mail programs—including targeting, testing strategy, offer hierarchy, creative format, production scheduling, and deployment.
  • Leads all direct mail planning sessions and calendar management, ensuring accurate timing and campaign integration with other channels (email, paid media, SMS, etc.).
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for internal teams (data science, legal/compliance, creative, operations) and external partners (printers, mail houses, credit bureaus, and prescreen providers).
  • Oversees all print production logistics including proofs, approvals, paper stock, personalization, NCOA/CASS processes, and mail drop confirmation.
  • Fosters strong relationships with teams to ensure initiatives are successfully delivered and innovation is prioritized.
  • Partners with data teams to structure and validate mailing lists using firm offer of credit logic, suppression rules, and segmentation strategies.
  • Ensures all mail campaigns comply with FCRA, GLBA, and firm offer of credit regulations—including management of opt-out mechanisms and adverse action requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains rigorous QA and review workflows to avoid data, creative, or timing errors across all mail pieces.
  • Maintains documentation of compliance approvals and legal sign-offs for audit readiness.
  • Develops and manages dashboards or reporting frameworks that track delivery, response, conversion, and CPA metrics.
  • Runs campaign-level and cohort-level A/B tests to optimize creative, targeting, cadence, and offer performance.
  • Collaborates with analytics teams to evaluate campaign impact and provide insights and recommendations for future mail strategy.
  • Works closely with Campaign Managers and other channel leads to align audience touchpoints across marketing efforts, ensuring a cohesive omnichannel experience.
  • Stays current with direct mail trends, postal changes, and emerging technology in print and offline attribution.
  • Drives innovation in creative formats, variable printing, personalization, and tracking solutions.
  • Facilitates collaboration and influences a positive team environment by supporting initiatives that address team dynamics, build cohesion and promote growth.
  • Reviews and maintains costs and expenses for all direct mail campaigns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent training or certifications also considered.
  • Minimum six (6) + years of experience managing high-volume direct mail campaigns in performance driven environments.
  • Proficient in CRM and campaign management tools such as Salesforce, Asana, Monday.com, and Smartsheet.
  • Solid understanding of USPS regulations, postal discounts, and pre-sort tracking processes (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with prescreen data, credit bureau partnerships, and firm offer of credit compliance under FCRA.
  • Familiarity with working alongside data providers such as Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax; experience with tools like LiveRamp, Lob, Postalytics, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry practices and mortgage products strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data tools and languages including SQL, Python, and Alteryx is a plus.
  • Background in coordinating or integrating omnichannel marketing efforts is advantageous.
