Job Description

Primary Function :

Analytical Lab Chemists are responsible for testing analytical lab specimens and analyzing the data to present to both inside and outside parties.

Responsibilities:

• Operation of analytical laboratory equipment.
• Preparation of exhibits for analytical testing.
• Maintain accurate & legible records that align with Ampacet's ISO requirements, as well as good documentation practices (GDP).
• Interface with and support internal & external customers where applicable.

• Maintains lab and equipment in the highest standards for a clean working environment.
• Adheres to all safety rules and regulation according to quality and safety policies.
• Work at a high level of efficiency and productivity to support Ampacet service commitments.
• Perform additional projects or tasks as assigned by the Lab Manager

• Maintaining equipment and supplies to provide continuity of workflow.
• Safeguarding Ampacet property and maintaining security policies.
• Setting an example by displaying and nurturing a healthy "positive" attitude toward the company.
• Strive toward continual improvements as they pertain to both personal goals and Ampacet goals.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment as necessary
• Perform routine calibrations in support of the ISO calibration coordinator.
• Analyze data and write reports for distribution to customers.
• Help with assigning of projects and signing off on reports.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field of study
• A candidate without a degree but a minimum of 10 years experience in an analytical lab may be considered.
• Familiarity with GC-MS, HPLC, FTIR, DSC, TGA, extraction techniques.
• Ability to demonstrate good math skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing with a high degree of professionalism.
• Must be able to interact with all departments within the organization.
• Experience in JDE, SharePoint, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and competent with using computers.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality with proprietary formulations.

• Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for current or future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years experience in an analytical lab
• Organic structure determination / Unknown Analysis
• MS data evaluation
• Analytical exepimerntal method development - Especially with Chromotrography
• Experience with ELSD on HPLC
